regann | I need a new fandom

As the subject says, I am in the market for a new fandom and I want your help! My TV watching has slacked off a lot in the last several years (I've always sucked at movies) and so I don't even know what slashy goodness awaits me. I'm hoping someone out there can point me to some media that has a good fandom behind it.

Some things I am looking for:

- Slashiness. This is not a surprise. I get my het from Castle and soaps.
- Something new. Only a few seasons (if it's TV) old at most. If it's a movie fandom, still new enough that people are active in the fandom.
- Awesome-ness. This is probably a given.

Some things I am NOT looking for:

- Comic books related stuff. XMFC has pretty much killed me on this. XD
- Shows that will infuriate me. Unless you can tell me when to stop watching. (aka, "Stop Smallville after Season 3")

My past fandom interests are varied: SG-1/SGA, Psych, XMFC, Smallville, video games, H50, Sentinel, SPN, Sherlock. Obviously, I like buddy shows, cop shows, scifi shows, drama, fantasy...

PLEASE REC ME SOMETHING TO WATCH AND FAN-GIRL OVER SO I DON'T SPEND ALL MY TIME RE-WATCHING SOAPS ON YOUTUBE.

Teen Wolf and White Collar have good fandoms and are very slashy :)

I haven't seen Teen Wolf (MTV, right?) but I do watch White Collar occasionally. I def see the Peter/Neal vibes but Elizabeth is too cool for me to get into adultery and I don't OT3. Matt Bomer is just so freakin' dishy. <3

Yep, Teen Wolf is MTV and so the men basically spend the entire season shirtless :P There's a hilarious recap of the first season written by sarahtales in the link below :)

Are you trying to avoid adultery in the show/film in general or is WC a special case? There are a couple of fandoms that you might enjoy, like NCIS:LA but it gets problematic in the third season :/

I tend to want to avoid adultery in general but I've been known to roll with it in cases where the wives are off-screen or verge of divorce-ish (case in point, early House). But in White Collar in particular, Elizabeth is too front-screen and awesome for that.

Elizabeth really is awesome, though her and Peter's relationship seems to have been written a little differently this season. Being Human (US or UK) and The Vampire Diaries are good supernatural shows with growing fandoms that have talented vidders and artists that you may like, although there are some underlying problems with the relationships in TVD (not including the massive ship wars) Adultery does happen in the show, though the characters are quite hypocritical about it depending on if viewers are supposed to like the character or not. (For example it's wrong for Katherine, the bitchy vampire to have relationships with both brothers but it seems to be ok for Elena the moral human to do the same)Most of the relationships with the vampires i.e the main characters are formed through compulsion/mind control, making them non consensual, so it's not the best show if you get triggered. If you can put up with these issues, the fandom is really awesome and has some of the best fanart I've seen.

I actually watch TVD! I've just never went into the fandom because lol the show ships everyone all over the place, it seems. I do have a soft spot for the Damon/Ric bromance (Alaric is probably my favorite character) but I also like Caroline and Jeremy before he got shipped off.

OMG, Jeremy/Anna, I loved them so much, the show broke me twice over them.

I'm not a huge Elena fan although she's inoffensive instead of grating on my damn nerves lol.

Where does one go to find TVD fandom?!?

I'm a Stefan stan with Stefan x Damon otp;) I shipped Jeremy/Tyler in season 1 until the show broke them :( I used to like Elena but the writers have ruined her character imo. Now I just her far far away from the brothers.
The fandom is mainly on tumblr by tracking your favourite ships/characters (mainly ships, this coincidently is where most of the ship wars take place) Unfortunately, nearly all the comms are delena centric but I've found that the most friendly is tvd-fans, and tvd_slash has some good damon/alaric bromance fics :)

Watch The Sweeney or The Professionals. Both excellent shows on their own. Both old, so no drama, both are mad slashy and the Pros has a billion years of excellent fanfic accumulated.

The icon is Bodie and Doyle of the Professionals kissing... That's a candid, mind.

Thank you! In the first season or two, I was into anyone/anyone but, yeah, I definitely like Elena far away from the brothers. And their relationship is pretty epic. :)
